The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. chapters 29-31

“Prime Numbers are what is left when you have taken all the patterns away. I think prime numbers are like life. They are very logical but you could never work out the rules, even if you spent all your time thinking about them.” (12)
I find this quote significant because all of his chapters are in prime numbers. I think that because he is autistic he sees things in a different way witch is really interesting to me. His book is filled with pictures and interesting descriptions unlike any book I have ever read. In these chapters he also explains how he doesn’t understand the use of metaphors. When he hears things like “I laughed my socks off” he doesn’t understand that because he actually think someone is laughing their socks off. To me seems very strange but it is because of his autism that he thinks like that. He is also very obsessed about time he has to have his watch on at all times and wouldn’t even take it off when he went in to his jail cell.
So far, I fond this book very interesting and I am excited to continue reading this book.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. chapters 13-23

After he found the dog the cops come and to investigate the scene. When the cops arrived they found him hugging the dog and they accused him of killing it. He told them he didn’t and the cop grabbed him to stand him up, and he didn’t like the way the cop grabbed him so he smacked the cop. This really upset the cop so he told him to get in his squad car and brought him to jail. This surprised me because putting a 15 year old in jail for hitting a cop seems a bit extreme. Then his dad arrives at the station and is furious with the cops for putting his son in a cell, because his son is autistic. Then they release him and question him why about hitting the cop and about the dead dog.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. chapters 2-11

In the first few chapters of this novel I have learned that the novel is a mystery novel, but not any mystery novel it’s about a dog that was murdered. The man who is telling the story is autistic. He doesn’t know how to interpret facial expressions so he carries around a piece of paper with different faces on it so he can tell how people are feeling. What is also different about this novel is all the chapters are prime numbers, I was kind of confused by this and I’m still unsure why he chose to do that.
The novel begins in first person, the main character finding a dead dog in his neighbor’s yard. He finds a pitchfork stabbed into the dog, he takes out the fork and holds the dog. He took a minute to think about how the dog was killed and came to the conclusion that he was murdered.

The Curious Incessant of the Dog in the Night-time

The book I choose to read is called The Curious Incessant of the Dog in the Night-time. The book is about an autistic boy who investigates a mysterious death of their neighborhood dog. The man who wrote the book numbers all his chapters in prime numbers and detests the color yellow. I chose this book because not only the cover caught my attention. When I picked up the book I flipped through the pages and the book really caught my eye. My friend told me about this book and usually he hates reading but he said that once I start reading this book i wont be able to put I down.
